Do you support or oppose a Missouri Plan in Alabama under which judges would initially be appointed, then face subsequent elections to retain the posts?

Only 7 states still elect judges in partisan elections. The “Missouri” plan has helped the public have more confidence in their courts because spending is lower in judicial elections. Whether we adopt the Missouri plan or some other alternative, we can certainly do better than spending $6 million to elect judges. When Democrats were in power, they opposed non-partisan elections. Now, Republicans oppose non-partisan elections. We need to fix this expensive problem now for the sake of justice in Alabama.
