Phifer: I don’t think he had a choice. I do think he is a good coach, and I hope he gets another chance down the line. Holtz: Yes. He lost control of the players, and he wasn’t that good a coach to begin with. Meisler: I really haven’t covered the team much in the last few years but I think Jen Warden’s enthusiasm is a major boost for the team and she has the energy to get the recruits to re-stock the program. Ivy: I am not privy to all that went on within the Women’s basketball program in 2004-05 that led to the removal of Chris Denker as the Head Coach. With my background in business, my experience says that the fault for these types of conflicts usually rests with both sides. I don’t think Denker was a bad guy nor do I think that Vanessa Espinosa and Lindsey Thomas are bad apples. They had issues that were unresolvable and to Driscoll’s credit, he stepped in.
