Do you think Shawn Michaels returning to WWE would ruin the historical WrestleMania retirement?
Yes, it definitely will. A lot of users are comparing this situation to Ric Flair’s retirement and return, but really, there isn’t much to compare, their circumstances were different. Vince McMahon needed an angle, a storyline, to help sell WM 24. So what did he do? He made that stipulation around Flair that if he lost another match he would retire. Flair loves the wrestling business, he didn’t want to retire. But Vince was the boss, and so he and Shawn had an emotional match in which he retired. . . from the WWE. Didn’t he promise to never wrestle in a WWE ring again? Going to TNA doesn’t really break that. Flair came out of retirement because he really didn’t want to go into it in the first place, he loves the business and loves to be involved, so I don’t see why people bash him for that.
