I have some personal experience here- You know those commercials where someone loses massive amounts of weight on an excercise machine and they show the before/after photos? Well, we got a company to give us one of those machines for free in exchange for being in a commercial. Then they took before/after photos- both of which were taken before we got the machine, and showed how much weight had been ‘lost’ on that machine that way- definitely not honest. However, I believe that a lot of these companies have such huge payrolls that they are able to find at least a few people who did have some success, but I think that if you’ve got to run a commercial to get participants, for the most part you won’t make much money doing it.
