Dodge Ram 1500 will not start after replacing water pump and thermostat. Please Help.?

I replaced the water pump on the truck and then replaced the thermostat. After this was completed I found a small hole in the radiator and so I had that fixed. When I went to start the truck, I turned the key and there was a loud click and then it turns over but does not fire. I tried taking the spark plug out and putting it on the block to see if I had spark and I did not. The only wire that I removed was the one on the alternator support brace. I think I have tried to put that back in everyway possiable, what can I do. I need this truck to run. Please Help. A: this vehicle is deemed a gas guzzler by government standards, and is destined for the scrap pile.
