I have never heard of a university even asking for an attendance record, or perhaps I am just forgetting. Come to think of it they might just ask the school to send that along. Let us assume that they do ask for yours from your school. A. the week away to attend the model UN will not count as an absence at all, just let the university know. There is no way a university will hold something like that against you. B. The flu has been everywhere, so if they do ask or notice then a quick letter from your doctor, or even just an email from you or your counselor explaining that you had the flu and the college will not hold that against you either (many schools now have entire back up plans for an outbreak of swine flu that could potentially cripple campus). Also, you could actually use these absences to make your application look better.
