No. The rendering providers will have to register their own separate NPI. Providers rendering services in a hospital who do not have a Medi-Cal provider number do not need to register an NPI. The rendering provider may authorize a representative to register their individual NPI on their behalf but they must ensure the correct NPI is registered to the appropriate Medi-Cal provider number.
