Yes. The stepchild in this situation obtains his immigration benefit based on his alien parent's marriage to the stepparent. His legal status is dependant on this relationship. Once the marriage ends, his legal relationship to his stepparent ends. As a result, the stepchild no longer has any immigration benefits based on the relationship with his ex stepparent.  more
