Does a wisdom tooth extraction hurt?

0

The actual wisdom tooth removal procedure doesn’t hurt because the area is numbed with a local anesthesia. On the day following the removal of your wisdom teeth, pain may set in. You may experience some wisdom teeth swelling as well. This is normal. And, in most cases, your dentist will give you a painkiller prescription to make post-op recovery more comfortable. What’s not normal is if the pain continues after a couple of days or gets worse. This could be a sign of dry socket, which requires the immediate attention of a dentist.
