Alpaca is 100 percent natural even after the process of cleaning the shorn alpaca fleece. No harsh toxic chemicals are applied, unlike the cleaning of wool. This is because raw alpaca fleece does not contain any lanolin oils. Natural detergent is used when washing alpaca, never any chemicals, in all its five different cleansing baths.
