Does an employee continue benefits while on voluntary active duty?
No. An employee does not accrue leave nor receive longevity pay while on leave without pay for voluntary active duty. Total state service credit is granted upon reinstatement within the given timeframe, which depends on the duration of military service. Retirement service credit is given if the employee returns to employment within the given timeframe, which depends on the duration of military service. Health insurance will be paid for 30 days after the employee is on involuntary military leave. The employee may elect to continue coverage by paying the full premium.
