Does anybody know when the driving age in new zealand is being taken up?
I think that no matter what age they decide to change it to, there will be no difference until they decide to implement proper driving education from a young age. Implementation from a younger age means more awareness of the road rules and better understanding of why they are there. I think it would be nice if ‘driving class’ was a real class people had to take. It would make the roads a lot safer. I think as it is, people don’t get enough driving experience and don’t do all the hours as required or cheat through them. I know heaps of people who haven’t done the required driving hours before getting their license and that BS isn’t going to change until they fix the messed up system. The problem is much bigger then age. Age is just a scapegoat. I also agree with what you say, about waste of resources! Where is the proof that changing the age will have any benefit?
