Official adoption registers didn’t begin in the UK until the 1920s. They are not open to public consultation, so like still-birth registers and divorce records, you won’t find them online. Before that date you’d probably have to check records of Foundling hospitals or Dr Banardos and the like, but these are usually subject to 100year closure records so you wouldn’t be able to see anything from 1919 yet in any case. I wasn’t aware there was such a thing as an adoption record website. I wouldn’t recommend giving them any money. Most adoptees usually have to go through the social services department to help get access to their records (depending on whether you were adopted before or after 1975 depends on whether you require official counselling before they will let you see your real birth certificate etc) so I don’t know how these sites can claim to have any records online for purchase.
