After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. The couple find themselves in a violent struggle, in which they go beyond what either of them thought capable in order to survive. As the movie continues the young couple staying at a summer retreat are faced with a night of psychological terror and the reality of what will come is more terrifying than anything both could have imagined. The film begins with two young well-dressed boys happening upon a vandalized property and a bloody crime scene, with a voiceover of a frantic 911 caller, rambling about a gruesome, bloody scene- we actually never see the caller in the movie and no mention is made of her.
