Does anyone have a poem for preschool graduation?

Oh, I like this poem. I might save it for later. I know that my son is only three years old, and I still haven’t picked a kindergarten for him yet, but this poem might be helpful in the future anyway. By the way, can you tell me about your experience with kindergartens? Was it hard for you to pick the best one? I’m thinking about Brooklyn Child Care by the link https://littlescholarsnyc.com/, and I hope that it’s going to be a good choice.

I think it’s called “Now We Are Six”. I agree it’s a great poem for a kid. My son learned it for his preschool graduation last year.

Well, it depends on the age of the pre-schoolers. But, there is a wonderful A.A. Milne poem that I loved as a kid called (I believe) Now I am Six. I’m guessing that it would be a bit old, but it could be phrased as all that the kids have to look forward to in moving ahead to Kindergaarten. I’m sorry I’m not home with my books, and I can’t think of any teacher poems off hand. It goes something like… When I was 1 I had just begun When I was 2 I was nearly new When I was 3 I was hardly me When I was 4 I was not much more When I was 5 I was just alive But, Now I’m 6 and clever as clever … I think I’ll just stay 6 forever. A.A. Milne has a lot of great poems geared towards children of the pre-K age. (He wrote them for his son… just like the Christopher Robin tales.) Take a look at one of his collections. It might be of help. You can also try Shel Silverstein (Where the Sidewalk Ends, and A Light in the Attic are two good collections.) Good luck.
