Does anyone have any good circus haunted house ideas?
Haunted Houses at circuses need to seem scary and creepy at the same time. Go with a bunch of mirrors in a maze like fashion to give the feeling of being lost. A live derranged clown is always a hit because it can chase guests.
The important thing is to make people feel startled. Make sure to add disorienting tunnels and noises to scare your guests. The less light and the more moving objects the better.
Most of the things we did in our Clown-Themed haunt were fairly large. We made a jack in the box, we did a sideshow alley with demented sideshows, we made a clown camp with tents that had snoring sounds coming from them and giant clown feet sticking out from the tent. We made a “hall of mirrors” that we used mylar sheets stretched across frames to accomplish the effect. We made a haunted circus organ that played freaky carnival music. We made a giant clown head to walk through into our haunt that transformed from happy to evil by using blacklight. Speaking of blacklights, we mage a crazy clown in the dark hallway that had fluorescent dots all over it and then hung tennis balls, painted fluorescent, at varying heights… I know, it doesn’t sound that cool, but it looked really neat and disorented our guests.
