Ok, perhaps I’m a nitwit, but I just stumbled onto a solution that seems incredible obvious, but which I’ve been toiling over for at least a week. I wanted to create an arm setup that was switchable from IK/FK. I tried all kinds of crazy constraint setups, with alternate skeletons and compensate-mode to engage contraints, yadda yadda… it worked, to a certain extent… Then I tried something incrediblly obvious and easy, and it worked 10 times better! I animated my arms up to a certain point with FK. Then I went back to the model and attached all the arm bones to their parents. All the stuff that I did when the bones weren’t attached stayed exactly the same, but now the bones were IK! There may be some solutions that are quicker and less tedious than going back to the model every time you want to switch, but if you only need it a few times like I do, this seems to work great! I have this strange feeling I’m the only guy that didn’t know I could do this. But for those of you out there
