no i dont, While safety during pregnancy has not yet been established, three patients who continued on metformin during their entire pregnancy and one who remained on a glitazone have delivered normal babies. There are no reports of abnormal babies in women who conceived using metformin and all resulting babies were normal. Metformin is a category B medication. This means that insufficient human data is available but no credible animal data suggesting a teratogenic (could produce birth defects) risk. Although to the best of our present knowledge the risk of birth defects would be small, it must also be noted that maternal diabetes has been associated with an increased risk of birth defects and the underlying elevated insulin levels may lead to birth defects if not corrected. While the most prudent policy may be to avoid the use of these medications during pregnancy until more data on pregnancy outcome is available, the risk of miscarriage may be reduced by continuing metformin during t

Yes. I was just diagnosed with PCOS a few months ago and the thing that gives me hope is that I already have 2 children and so does my husband so our chances of fixing this problem are considered to be fairly “easy” (so they say) Either way, when you want to be pregnant really bad and every month your cycle comes, its a little heart shattering. My Dr put me on Metformin which is supposed to help with starting ovulation and if I dont conceive by July then I will be starting clomid and praying to God that by Sept. I will be pregnant, if not then I dont know what my next step is because I cant afford costly fertility treatments.

Yup, I have it too! It is actually quite common. I have a mild form of PCOS and I have been ttc. My major problem is long cycles which means late ovulation. This was and is really my only symptom. I have been actively trying since January and no luck yet. I am currently on Metformin (a type II diabeties drug but has been proven in helping PCOS women regulate cycles…which will hopefully lead to normal mid cycle ovulation). If I am still suffering from long cycles in June, we will try something else, maybe Clomid. GOOD LUCK and PCOS women do get pregnant ALL the time…Don’t give up!
