Does anyone know about about potty training regression?
My mothers group calls regression “potty pauses”. Not all kids have them, but they are very common. My daughter was trained the week she turned three. Then at age four, she started having lots of pee accidents! It was NOT for attention, she just couldn’t seem to be independent anymore. Potty training is hard for some kids! It was probably worse than when we actually potty trained. We had just moved and were living in a hotel and I had no cleaning supplies for accidents, so she wore pull-ups for the next five months. One day I realized that she hadn’t had an accident for about a week and we ditched the pull-ups. She only had one accident after that. My son regressed after being trained too with no obvious cause whatsoever. He was much younger, so I set a timer for every hour and required him to try frequently. Sometimes there is a reason and sometimes it is a mystery, don’t stress too much about why it is happening. You can wait it out like we did with my daughter (it was sooo easy to j
