Does anyone know any home remedies for infant thrush?
OK, I guess I am “Crazy person”. You can get nystatin but it has less than 50% success rate. A good home remedy is to get some grapefruit seed extract oil. Place 15 drops into 1 ounce of distilled water (tap water will kill the good stuff in it) take that mixture and use a clean q-tip to swab the white patches in the baby’s mouth. Use before each feeding. Swab the same mixture on your nipples after each feeding. The mom needs to cure he rthrush as well as they will keep passing the infection back and forth. She should take 250mg of grapefruit seed extract pills everyday and acidophilus supplement. Do this until the symptoms disappear – then continue for 2 weeks after. I went through this and it works! You can go with nystatin, it will probaly fail and then they will give diflucan which is serious stuff and has LOTS of side effects. Do your research – check out BF sites to get ideas!
