Does anyone know of a good summer job for a 14 year-old living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada?
Aww, I feel like I’m passing down the torch. I’m 17 and was in a similar position at your age. It’s hard for your age group, but don’t worry — it only gets better. Ideally, try working any job. Employers HATE young people (especially people who just got their social insurance number), so take whatever you can. Obviously make sure it’s somewhere safe to work in, but just getting your foot out the door is a big step. Realize that once you have experience working somewhere, it gets much easier to get other jobs. I worked at a golf course around that age. I kind of actually hated it, but it helped me get a job at Shoppers Drug Mart. Word to the wise: golfers love women. When I was working there, a girl who pretty much just stood there half the time got tipped way more than me — someone who actually did something. I’m not too familiar with Scarborough but I think it would be really cool to work at the Zoo. Remember, you’re still young and have your life to work. Make sure you juggle a gre
