Does ash make nice furniture and cabinets? Is that considered a "cheap" wood to build with?

I have kitchen cabinets made of ash they look great. It is a good hardwood that will naturally resist dings and blemishes. Ash has its own grain that is different from oak, maple, cherry and others, maybe a little bolder. Ash is not significantly cheaper to work with than other hardwoods, but it's not significanly more expensive either. It is a fine choice for cabinets and furniture.  more
