Does Baxter shed a lot?
A. All dogs with fur shed – and Baxter is no exception! I have read that smooth & broken coat JRTs shed more than long haired JRTs but this might be because the straight hairs seem to work their way into fabrics and sometimes it is more difficult to get them out. Brushing your dog once a week should help (we haven’t been too good about that) but if you get a JRT it will shed. We take Baxter places in my car (and we take him everywhere) so it is nicknamed “The dog car” while my husband’s car is off limits (usually) to the dog so at least we have one fur free car. Many companies now sell car seat covers to help when you transport your pooch – but as far as in the house buy a good dog brush and a good vacuum.
