The literature supporting this notion is inconsistent. This study evaluates the impact of body mass index (BMI) on the radiographic and functional outcomes following the operative management of distal radius fractures. In a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data, 190 patients who underwent surgical fixation of a distal radius fracture were evaluated.
