There are a huge amount of posts where authors write how checking accounts help teens to develop saving & spending habits. I agree that checking account helps to manage money but I can’t understand how it helps to save money. Share your opinion & experience, please.

Сhecking accounts help teens manage their money and help parents teach their children and, a little, control them. By tracking expenses, teens begin to understand how much money they spend on everyday or special needs such as going to the cinema or something else and begin to understand how much money they can save. That is why we opened a savings account for our son. But this year we are thinking about saving the certificate (https://unityone.org/Products-and-Services/savings-certificates/) because APY is higher.
