Does chewing food better aid weight loss?
Yes my understanding is that it does – not that the chewing actually helps weight loss (unless you are munching your way through celery). Most people rush their meals in this busy life we lead, and the body doesn’t have time to register that you have actually eaten – (and you, too) so you want to eat again very quickly. Which means you are picking at food when you shouldn’t be. The reference to celery may be an old wives tale – but the theory is that you consume more calories in eating the celery than the celery actually contains!
