I don’t know about Nagasaki, and I only did limited shopping in Beijing, but I can help with Shanghai since I spent a lot of time there. Shanghai has a place called the fabric market that is a great place to get tailor made clothing. I bought a suit there made with 60% silk with a jacket and two pairs of pants for around $160 U.S. There is also a huge indoor market that sells everything you could imagine. This is another great place to buy clothing as even the fake stuff is very convincing and nobody would ever know the difference. This place is a goldmine if you are interested in American sports jerseys. They usually sell for around $100 at the mall in the States, but in the market in Shanghai you can get the same thing or even better for around $15. It takes a lot of haggling though which is a blast. Its often known as the fake market and is located on subway line #2 at the science and technology museum stop in Pudong.
