Does cocoa butter really help fade stretch marks?
I’m sorry to tell you this, stretch marks can be prevented but they will never go away completely. I’ve had three children. I was not very diligent using the cream during my first pregnancy and I got a lot of stretch marks. I used cocoa butter during my second and third pregnancies and got no new stretch marks thanks to the cream, but all the old ones are still there. I put cream on them every day for 18 months and they are still there. However, they are no longer purple and you really can’t see them unless the light shines a certain way and they appear a little whiter then the rest of my skin, kind of like a faded scar. Hope that helps!
I blamed my genes for looking like zebra after pregnancy until a co-worker of mine showed me her belly after 3 kids–no marks! She told me the only way to get rid of them is to abrade top layer of the skin. This procedure costs $200 per treatment in dermatologist office but she is getting those same abrasion crystals at fraction price through the site www.medicalcrystals.com and makes her own abrasive cream (1 spoon crystals+ 2 spoons lotion). After massaging this cream she applies collagen rich moisturizer. St. Ives makes good and cheap collagen elastin lotion. I started my treatments 1 month ago and they faded significantly, hopefully, this summer I’ll have my skin back.
