Does cranberry juice help?
The idea that cranberry juice will correct bedwetting is an “Old Wives’ Tale.” Today we know that cranberry juice has health benefits, assisting the “prevention and cure” of some urinary tract infections. However, when there is a bladder or urinary tract infection causing enuresis, wetting occurs during the day also. In such a case cranberry juice might have helped. These infections don’t come and go with the rising and setting of the sun. Arousal dysfunction does. By definition, nocturnal enuresis, or bedwetting, occurs only during sleep, which leads to the conclusion that it is related to a disorder of the sleep, arousal dysfunction.
