Does Drinking Alcohol Cause Hair Loss?

Let’s talk first about drinking alcohol. If we look on the continuum of alcohol use, we see use, misuse, abuse and dependency. Certainly at the use and misuse state, I think most experts would tend to agree that we’re not concerned with most of the negative consequences. Now, we are talking about people who are old enough to drink, 21 and above. Certainly, when you’re talking about youth drinking, hair loss is least of our concerns.We’re much more concerned with the brain development, high risk behaviors, things of that sort. And so, we’re looking into the abuse or dependency level of drinking doesn’t cause hair loss, there’s some evidence to support the idea that when the immune system becomes compromised and certainly with alcohol, alcoholics, alcoholism, alcohol dependency, there’s oftentimes a poor nutritional habits.
