Does drinking hot chocolate help cure PMS irritation/mood swings?
there have been some studies which suggest that chocolate increases the levels of serotonin in the brain (the brain’s happy juice). So drinking chocolate to make yourself feel better isn’t as weird as it sounds… I get PMS too, it’s awful. I all of a sudden switch from nice and normal me, into a screaming hellcat and everything winds me up. It helps when I realise what’s going on because then I find that I can laugh at myself. So I tend to shout, scream and then have a laugh and a joke about it. It’s not a perfect system, but it does help you keep the humour in the situation. And it is funny. We’re intelligent human beings, and yet we can be controlled by our tiny little chemicals!!
