The only rule technology that is implemented in EE is the Business Rules Beans – which are not geared towards implementing a rule-based engine in the AI sense (inferring new knowledge from a set of rules). BRBs are a way to externalize validation or “derivation” (calculation) algorithms, in a way that makes it easier for you to change the behavior of an application (administration versus programming).
