Does evolutionary adaptation actually exist?

0

Technically, it is a theory. By definition, a theory isn’t necessarily true. However, most scientists in the word today agree with the theory of evolution, including adaptation. The theory of adaptation was first put forth by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck. His theories are also referred to as the inheritance of acquired traits. Darwin later modified the theory and gets most of the credit for it today. The other “rival” explanations for adaptation are dependent on the idea that evolution itself does not exist. These creationism or intelligent design theorists believe that features of living organisms are determined by some higher being or “intelligent cause” and thus the adaptation would not be via evolution, but rather by design from above. Hope this helps.
