Does Georgia Medicaid cover artificial insemination?
First of all, 6 months is not that long to have been trying. It can take a healthy couple a year or more to conceive. I would keep trying, maybe join a site like www.fertilityfriend.com and start tracking your temperatures, ovulation etc . . . to work on your timing. You should also make sure that you are taking your prenatal vitamins, eating healthy and getting some exercise. Unfortunately, even if you do not figure in medicaid (which only covers the minimum and what is medically necessary – conceiving a child is not medically necessary), Georgia does not require ANY insurance company to offer coverage for infertility – in the US only 15 states do and Georgia is not one of them. So, even if you had good insurance that you paid hundreds of dollars a month for it would probably not be covered. That being said – you should still see your doctors and have a check up – they might be able to identify something and give you some tips. Good luck!
