Most HPV’s clear up on their own by the body’s own immune system. The one’s that aren’t usually present as a recurring flare up. What I have a problem with is, about 85% of people have been exposed to HPV at some time in their lives. So it would just figure into the equation that if someone was dx with a cancer in the genital region, that person may very well have an HPV. I do not believe HPV CAUSES cancer. Anything that would disrupt cell growth on a regular, long term basis, such as acid reflux also, left untreated over many years, could cause irreversible cell damage and cells MAY start replicating with damaged ones, which has the potential to become cancer. I know I didn’t explain it correctly, but I know what I’m trying to get across. Another example that an onco dropped on me, while sitting in with my neurosurgeon that I pretty much blew off is, she brought up CMV as a probable cause of brain cancer.
