Does Ice Age Threaten Earth?
” June 12, 1975: The United Press International, Washington, recognizes that the weathermen “are hard pressed to forecast conditions a few days ahead” but pontificate about apocalyptic “signs of change.” Why? Because “there has been a global cooling trend in the last thirty years” science declares; because we “now live in an unusual period, viewed in the context of earth’s overall history” assert our scribes; because much of the “United States has cooled more than the global average during the past 15 years – summers one or two degrees cooler in some places.” (And, presumably, because reporters spin.)
