Many insurance plans today cover acupuncture. In order to find out if you are covered, you should call your insurance provider and ask if acupuncture performed by an acupuncturist licensed in the State of California is a covered benefit. You should also determine if you have a benefit for out-of-network providers (we are not contracted with most plans). The other question to ask is whether acupuncture is covered for pain only or based on medical necessity. For example, your plan may cover acupuncture if you have musculoskeletal pain but not if you have a digestive problem.

Some insurance does. Check with your insurance plan. I do not bill the insurance but will give you a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Also, you may be able to utilize your flex-spending account, so check your benefits carefully!

More and more insurance companies are covering acupuncture. Check with your insurance provider to find out if your policy covers acupuncture, and how many visits you are allotted per year. Payment for your treatment is due at the time of your visit. You will be provided with a Superbill for each visit (a Superbill is an invoice for your visit that uses standardized codes for all of the treatments performed). The Superbill can then be submitted to your insurance provider for full or partial reimbursement of the cost of your visit, depending on your policy.

Some insurance does. You need to check with your insurance plan. I do not accept insurance, but will give you a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbusement.
