Most places are moving their tech support, call centers, etc. to India for the money. They pay a lot less for people in Inida to answer the phones. Most major companies are doing it. Call for help about your computer – India. Call for info about your credit card – India. Right now we have a friend who works for Master Card’s Headquarters and is currently in India for a month teaching them how to take over a bunch of jobs for Master Card, and the people who are working those jobs (here in the US) will be fired as soon as the people in India are trained and ready to take over. Our friend is not happy about having to do it, but was ordered to and was told he would be fired if he refused. He has over 25 years there and hopes to get in the other five years to retire. A lot of the other credit card companies already have a lot of their work transfered to India. Before I left Earthlink as my internet service, they had gone to India.
