Does LA have a stormy/hurricane season?

LOL Sure, we have a stormy season in January-February. It drizzles, and it a MAJOR NEWS ITEM. Seriously, they send reporters out in the rain to report on it. If you live in other parts of the country where it REALLY rains, it’s pathetic what we call rain here. Not that I’m complaining at all, your question just touched me as humorous. We don’t have big storms like that. Occasionally, we’ll get a tropical storm, but haven’t seen one in quite a few years, maybe 10 or 15. In August, you can pretty much count on the heat. Expect temps in the 90-100+ range. BUT it’s a lot drier than the South. Usually, there’s low humidity.

Unlike other parts of the country where precipitation can fall year round, the normal weather pattern for Southern California is different. We have a “rainy” season from about December to April, and the remainder of the year is usually dry.

Winter is our stormy season, and even then, it is mild. Just come anytime, and welcome!

It depends how you would classify 2 inches rain… 🙂 There was very harsh sprinkling that got hair damp….. lol sorry so no, there is no stormy or hurricane season. Its get colder in the winter (40’s-50’s) but that’s about it. It makes driving really dangerous because of all the build up on the rd and then when small amounts of rain do come its very highly concentrated and the Rd’s are very slippery!
