Al Bola of the Las Vegas Taxi Drivers Association has surfaced, endorsing a leafletting campaign which urged all local cabbies to take their lunch breaks from noon to 1 p.m. this week. The idea is to stage a lunch-hour slowdown as conventioneers crowd the city for the annual gathering of the National Association of Broadcasters. Why? Mr. Bola cites frustration with the slow pace at which the state Taxicab Authority is considering a proposal to permanently reduce by 91 the number of cabs authorized to operate in Clark County.
