WASHINGTON – Monica Lewinsky believes Bill Clinton lied to a federal grand jury about their affair, a new book on the Clinton scandals says. Politico.com reported yesterday the White House intern whose Oval Office trysting nearly brought down the 42ndPresident made that assertion to Duquesne University law professor Ken Gormley. His 769-page analysis of Monicagate, “The Death of American Virtue,” will be published in February. “There was no leeway on the veracity of his statements because they asked him detailed and specific questions to which he answered untruthfully,” Lewinsky wrote the author. The book reportedly offers unflattering portrayals of Clinton and his chief nemesis, independent counsel Kenneth Starr.
