does Medicare really pay for Alzheimers patients hospice care ?

My mom has alzheimers and i’ve been told that Medicare will pick up hospice for her without going after any assets my dad may have after she’s gone. I know Medi-Cal/Medicade will go after the home to recoop moneys spent, but i’m wondering if the same will happen with Medicare. A: Medicare will pick up all costs (except medication) of hospice with restrictions. Those restrictions include, but are not limited to, a doctor must certify that you are terminally ill with less than 6 months to live and you must get care from a Medicare approved hospice program. Medicare will not attach your dad’s assets. Medicare will not pay for any long term care that most Alzheimer’s patients need except for hospice. As you know Medicaid will but they will also attach assets.
