No, unlike brazil, for instance, which i believe you were referring to, Mexico, and the Spanish mother country never had involvemnt in African slavery as it is seen today. However, many of the native people were subdued and used as slave labor in many many cases. It was never official policy, but it just made sense, get the guys there to do the hard work for them. Many of these native people also died, but as opposed to the US type of decimation of native people, Spanish and French in Mexico identured, sort of enslaved natives.
