Nanotechnology is in its infancy. Very crude prototypes of nanodevices have been created, and many large, extremely well-funded companies and government agencies as well as several Nobel laureates are now pursuing a comprehensive, working nanotechnology. We know that it is possible to build nanites (also called molecular assemblers) pioneering nanoscientist K. Eric Drexler’s book Nanosystems [4] demonstrates this we’re just not quite able to pull it off yet.
