Does One Have to Be a Geek to Enjoy a Good Science Fiction Book?

With that definition in mind – most of our population fits into geek status. Imagine not being fascinated by knowledge or imagination. I do not consider myself a geek (I do now after reading the above definition) nor do my sister and son consider themselves geeks. Justin runs the other way if that word is even mentioned, but according to this definition he is one because he is fascinated by writers’ imaginations. He loves to read. He does not even realize how much knowledge he is learning through reading (and we do not plan on telling him!!!) We may not know that we are ‘geeks’ but then again, why do we have to bother with labels at all? Evidently, ‘geeks’ were smart enough to give the word so many definitions that the majority of society can be labeled as such. Go ahead, pick up the latest Jim Butcher book, and read. You will find yourself wanting to read them all… or the Terry Goodkind novels…or the Rachel Caine books. Go ahead pick one up and start the adventure. Geek status or
