Does ovarian cyst cause pregnancy like symptoms?
Large ovarian cysts can be painful when they are pressing up against other structures inside. They are also very painful when they rupture. Really large ones could make you look like you are pregnant…distended belly. They could also cause some nausea and make you feel like you have to pee a lot if they are pressing on your bladder. So some of the traditional pregnancy symptoms could be the same for an ovarian cyst. Before I found out I had a large one, I too thought that I was having an appendicitis. I nearly blacked out from the pain. I saw stars and was buckled over in pain. Then when they did the ultrasound, they saw it on my left ovary. (my pain was on the right) It was pushing my uterus and right ovary over causing the pain on the right lower side. Not a fun thing to go through.
