Does Plan B cause ectopic pregnancy?
Plan B does one of a few things: Prevents sperm from reaching the uterus by thickening the cervical mucus Prevents a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterine wall Delays or stops ovulation so there is no egg to fertilize May slow or delay the sperm It will not terminate an existing pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies are rare so I don’t know why you’re concerned about them. The egg is usually fertilized in the fallopian tube, and then travels down and implants into the uterine lining. This whole process can take several days. It can take the sperm three days to reach the egg to fertilize, and that egg needs a few days (up to 10 or 12) to travel down and implant. Pregnancy does not happen immediately. If Plan B was responsible for ectopic pregnancies it would not be on the market. The sooner you take it the better it will work. Side effects include nausea so if you’re prone to puking take it with Gravol. You may experience spot bleeding, a second period this month, miss a period complete
