No, posting a bond simply allows the alien to be released from INS, and to be reunited with his or her family and take the necessary steps to correct their situation with INS. It is still possible that even after posting bond a person will be deported. WHAT HAPPENS IF AN ALIEN DOES NOT BOND OUT? The individual can try to take care of his matters with INS while being incarcerated, however, it is easier to work through the situation if he/she has bonded out and can readily speak to their immigration attorney about their situation. HOW DO YOU SELECT A BONDSMAN QUALIFIED TO POST IMMIGRATION BONDS? There is a very select few bondsmen that write immigration bonds. First, look in the yellow pages for those who advertise that they write immigration bonds. Next, you can call the Division of Insurance in the State that the bondsman lives and they can quickly tell you if that bondsman is properly qualified.
