Does Pregnancy cause mood swings?

I wanted to giggle when I read this question, not out of rudeness, but simply because I am pregnant and I can certainly say that I’ve experienced some swinging moods. You can go from angry to happy to miserable to excited in a matter of minutes. It can make you feel nearly insane. Mood swings are quite normal due to the increased levels of a variety of hormones flushing throughout the body. The mood swings, as well as other crazy symptoms, slow and regulate again in the second trimester. Not to say that a pregnant woman won’t still have increased emotional sensitivity, but she’ll be less prone to full blown mood swings after the hormones stabilize.
