Does Ridley admit students who are not training for ordination?

0

Yes! We welcome independent students who are wanting to equip themselves for lay pastoral ministry within the Anglican church. Although Ridley Hall was originally created for the preparation of clergy for the Church of England (CofE), we have a number of lay students here. In addition to those who enrol for the CYM honours degree in Youth and Community Work, we welcome people who want to study theology in a Christian community and who are happy to participate in worship according to the Anglican tradition. In any given year our community will also include the approximately sixty CofE ordinands, several ordinands from overseas, forty-five or so CYM students who are with us part-time, as well as a few clergy from overseas who are pursuing further degrees. We also have sabbatical guests who stay with us from a few days to an entire year.
